1 Corinthians 14:24–25 (ESV) —
24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all, 25 the secrets of his heart are disclosed, and so, falling on his face, he will worship God and declare that God is really among you.
NOTE: Prophecy, or God's word is what changes people, either bringing them to repentance or helping them to know God better. Tongues, without interpretation, may do something for the person, I don't know, but has very little spiritual value. Everyone, believer and unbeliever, needs to hear God's word. And we, the church -- not the pastor -- have the responsibility to share God's words with our neighbors, co-workers, friends, family, and community -- everyone. Some churches think this is the Pastor's job -- it is NOT! Yes, he like us in the body, must share within his relationships, but his job is to equip us to share the gospel. How are we doing?
PONDER:
- How are we, the body, doing sharing the gospel?
- Do we accept that it is our responsibility? Or do we shirk that responsibility?
PRAYER: Father, thank you for the role I have. Continue to show me ways to minister to the outside world. Give me opportunities and boldness.
