Notice on a slight format change:

Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.

July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).

QT 17 Aug 15, Isa 33:7-10, It will get even worst, first

Isa 33:7-10 (ESV)
7 Behold, their heroes cry in the streets;
 the envoys of peace weep bitterly.
8  The highways lie waste;
the traveler ceases.
 Covenants are broken;
cities are despised;
there is no regard for man.
9  The land mourns and languishes;
Lebanon is confounded and withers away;
Sharon is like a desert,
and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.

10  "Now I will arise," says the Lord,
"now I will lift myself up;
now I will be exalted.

NOTE: So, the bad news is, that it gets much worse before it will ever get better. That does not mean that we don't try to heal the hurts of our land or change the laws. Ultimately, only changed hearts matter, and even that is not enough to stem the flood of evil that consumes this world. God had promised to arise and he will make himself known to the whole world. There will weeping and gnashing of teeth at the revealing of the truth. Men will be so angry because they can no longer be gods. Men will be punished and sent to eternal judgment for their failure to believe. There will be no excuses. No arguments will succeed against God, no matter how clever they might sound now. God will destroy foolish arguments. He already has with the visit of Jesus Christ, but men refuse to consider the evidence that Jesus Christ's life provides. We have no excuse. God has made himself known and plain. The fact that men chose to believe a lie is not an excuse (as Paul makes clear in Romans 1). The day is coming and it is not far now.
