Notice on a slight format change:

Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.

July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).

QT 31 Aug 15, Isa 34:16a, The evidence for faith is a faithful God clearly revealed in the bible

Isa 34:16a (ESV) Seek and read from the book of the Lord …

NOTE: So, I have taken this verse slightly out of context. The prophecy concerns the region of Edom and Bozrah which will be completed destroyed. Since this is the safe place for the Jews during the last half of the tribulation, I can only infer that this refers to the very end days when Jesus returns to earth to rescue his people from the Antichrist's attack. In which case, I guess, the people will flee and the whole area will be destroyed, especially the Antichrist's army. An army that extends back and will form a wave of blood 200 miles long. But that is not the point I wish to make here. The point is that this prophecy is based upon both previous prophecies and God's faithfulness to his word. In other words, if you don't believe, just seek and read, and see how God has fulfilled his word time and again. Belief in God is not a blind step of faith, although it is a step of faith, but it is based upon verifiable evidence. Now, the world twists the bible to try to disprove this latter point, but an honest search of the evidence makes it clear that our faith is based upon a faithful God.
