QT 12/6/2024 Rom 9:25-28, Sons of the living God

Romans 9:25–28 (ESV) —

25 As indeed he says in Hosea,

“Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’

and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’ ”

26 “And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’

there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’ ”

27 And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved, 28 for the Lord will carry out his sentence upon the earth fully and without delay.”

 

NOTE: Even Israel, chosen by God, will not all be saved -- at least until the end of time. Many Jews have died in these last 2000 years for a refusal to believe in the Messiah. And Gentiles, who Jews called dogs, and who also did not have in the one true God of Israel, they have died without salvation, but in these last days, some of them are now called God's people. It really is a remnant of Jews and a remnant of Gentiles who are God's people. We will be called sons of the living God. And those who shook their fist at God and have rebelled from the beginning will receive their sentence -- eternal separation from God in Hell.

 

It is not too late to repent and believe. Now is the day of salvation, now is the time to believe. Don't wait.

1. Do I know the savior?
2. Have I been born again?

 

PRAYER: Father, I pray that you would continue to show mercy to this world and bring more people into the family. Be gracious. I know judgment is near.
