Notice on a slight format change:

Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.

July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).

2 Tim 3:13-14
Very clearly, Paul tells Timothy that evil people and imposters (those who pretend to be believers) will go from bad to worse (in behavior) and will continue to deceive and be deceived (in their teaching and philosophy of life).
We see this in the church today. It is the people who are integrating culture and world philosophy with bible truth. But it doesn't integrate, it changes the word of God into something it is not. It is wrong. The protection is given later in the passage (verse 16) -- we must immerse ourselves in truth. The bible alone is the standard.
Father, protect me from the common (and becoming more common) practice of misinterpreting scripture in the light of culture. Where they agree, that is different, but the word must always be the final authority.
