Prov
28:15a The leech has two daughers, 'Give! Give!' they cry. ...
|
The
leech of Proverbs is only interested in what it gets out of life. It does not
care for others. It does not think of others. It is loud, and has to cry out
twice to make sure it is heard.
|
How am
Iike a leech where I am more concerned with my personal struggles than of the
struggles of the people around me? Is my agenda always first? Does my point
of view always need to be heard? Does pride cloud my view of others
|
Father,
Open my eyes to my selfishness. Help me to see how I really treat others.
Help me to think of how you would handle a situation. Help me see another's
problems as more important than my problems and struggles. Help me to be
selfless and not self-centered.

These are just some random entries from my quiet times. Not all are included, as some are private or not very interesting.
Notice on a slight format change:
Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.
July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).
