Notice on a slight format change:

Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.

July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).

QT 31 Dec 18, 2 Cor 7:2, See life differently

2 Corinthians 7:2 (ESV) — Make room in your hearts for us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have taken advantage of no one.

NOTE: We are so quick to find fault that we never stop to think what really happened. We see people as enemies instead of broken children. We see actions as specifically attacking us when we might have just got caught up in some emotional crossfire. Yes, we deal with sinful creatures all around us, but we are also sinful creatures. We need to show grace to those who hurt us. We need to pray. We need to be kind and gentle. Harsh replies do no one any good. Rather than assuming the worst of those we encounter, we should assume the best. "BUT," we reply, "others do not do that to us!" So what? God is our judge, not others. We seek to please him by obeying him and by loving others as ourselves. We need to stop focusing on the fault of others, and start focusing on our own response.

PRAYER: Father, forgive us for your sin. Reveal to us when we harm others by our words or innuendo. Help us to act as Jesus showed us.
