Notice on a slight format change:

Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.

July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).

QT 3 Dec 18, 1 Cor 16:13, The world is intent upon destroying itself by disobedience to God's word

1 Corinthians 16:13 (ESV) — Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

NOTE: I suppose the above statement would fall under the category of "toxic masculinity." The problem is that it is not toxic and it is what our world needs today. It is impossible to make this argument in today's society as it will be interpreted as misogyny. And yet it is quite the opposite. It is a love for women and a desire for them to experience the life God planned for them, with a loving husband who protects and nourishes them. Children should be a joy, not a burden. Everything is so far from God's original intention. But whatever culture says, Christian men can stand firm and be strong. We can because we are men. And we will not shrink back at this important point in history.

PRAYER: Father, give me the strength to follow through. I do want to be strong. I do want to stand up to what is right. I do want to say what needs to be said and not play the spiritually correct song. Father, have mercy on us. Have mercy on my employer. Have mercy on my country. Have mercy on this world. We running into a pit at full steam, all the time mistakenly thinking that are eyes are wide open. We are so blinded and so foolish. Have mercy.
