Matthew 5:13 (ESV) —
13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how
shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to
be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.
|
Salt is
for preservation. We are the preserving agent in the world. We also add taste
to the food (life) such that it is good. But the world has rejected us and
prefers garbage to God's food.
|
Someday,
the church will be taken away and our role in constraining evil will be
removed from the earth. The people of the earth will get what they always
wanted, life without God, and life without his reminders, and life without
his influence through believers. Of course, the tribulation saints will rise
up and it will be short-lived. But even the tribulations saints will not
number enough men and women to constrain evil.
|
Father
open our eyes before it is too late. Evil is attacking on all fronts. The
world is heading to chaos. What a terrible time to learn. Open our eyes I
pray.

These are just some random entries from my quiet times. Not all are included, as some are private or not very interesting.
Notice on a slight format change:
Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.
July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).
