1 Peter 3:12 (ESV) —
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do
evil.”
NOTE: I need to
trust. I need to stop worrying about things that have not happened. Yes, evil
is rampant in the world, but that does not mean it will show itself in every
situation. God is in control and he allows evil. I believe he allows it to
remind us of our decision to be our own gods and to rule our own life, all the
way back to the garden. As a result, we have evil. For the believer, we know
that God works all things for good, even the evil of life. But, I don't think
he desires for me to live in expectation of evil. Yes, we need to be wise, but
we also need to be trusting. Deal with life as it happens, don't waste time
worrying about what has not happened.
PRAYER: Father, calm
my heart over the activities of the next few weeks. I really do want to trust
you and not worry about the sinful actions of others. I need to trust -- help
me to trust.
