Isa
40:6-11
|
Isaiah 40:6 (ESV) —
A voice says, “Cry!” And I said, “What shall I
cry?”
All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the
flower of the field.
|
The
point of the passage, which is explained more clearly in the following
verses, is that man's physical life is temporal. It is like a flower, that is
here for a season and then is gone.
|
But
unlike the Babylonian world view of today, life does not end after a season.
Physical life does end, but spiritual life begins with death. And physical
life is restored after the rapture. The earth is renewed and we live back on
earth in the millennial kingdom. This is true for the person who truly has
experienced a life change by Jesus Christ. For EVERYONE else, the future is
eternal destruction and separation from God.
|
Father,
help me to not shrink back in sharing the truth message. It is
absolutely true, and the world needs to hear it.

These are just some random entries from my quiet times. Not all are included, as some are private or not very interesting.
Notice on a slight format change:
Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.
July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).
