2 Corinthians 13:5 (ESV) — Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the
faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that
Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!
|
What is the test?
Does Jesus Christ reside in your heart? Have you put your faith wholly in
Jesus for salvation? How can you know? Were you genuinely repentant for your
sins? If not, then your motivation for salvation may have been wrong and you
have not truly been born-again in the Spirit. Have you ever experienced the
life-transforming power of Jesus Christ? Have you ever experienced the peace
of God, which transcends understanding? If you cannot answer those questions
yes, then you have failed the test and are not in the faith. You may call
yourself a Christian, but you are not a Christian in God's book, which is the
only one that counts.
|
Father, thank you
that I continue to experience your life-changing work in my own life. It is a
testimony to me of my salvation. It encourages me to know that I am secure in
Jesu. Thank you Lord.

These are just some random entries from my quiet times. Not all are included, as some are private or not very interesting.
Notice on a slight format change:
Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.
July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).
