July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).

QT 13 Feb 2020, Luke 6:43, We need transformed hearts


Luke 6:45 (ESV) — 45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

NOTE: A person can hide or mask his heart for a time, but in the end and over time it will always reveal itself. The key is not to try changing the heart, but transforming the heart. Transformation is a work of the Holy Spirit that occurs through the renewing of the mind. As we are filled with the Spirit and as we allow the word of Christ to dwell in us richly, we change. As we apply the word of God to our life, we change. As we listen AND obey God, we change. And slowly the heart changes, and slowly the fruit changes, so that the abundance of our transformed hearts produces good.

PRAYER: Father, reveal to me my darkened heart. Holy Spirit, transform my heart into something that will glorify the God-head and produce good.
