Notice on a slight format change:

Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.

July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).

QT 3 Feb 20, Luke 5:26, Unbelief despite seeing the truth

Luke 5:26 (ESV) — 26 And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.”

NOTE: Amazement and extraordinary things -- we did not get a chance to see it. We have the written record and the testimony of eyewitnesses, but it is hard to believe something you do not see yourself. But even then, people chose not to believe. I think that is why God was so harsh to "this generation" as it is later called, because they had truth in front of them and still did not believe.

The requirement of faith is still the same today. The record is there, but also the change that God brings about in the heart of a person who is born again. There is no denying the work of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: Father, forgive us for our unbelief. Open our eyes. We head down a road deeper and deeper into sin. Where do you want me to serve?
