Psalm 26:8 (ESV) —
O Lord, I love the habitation of your house
and the place where your glory dwells.
NOTE: What is the habitation of God's house and where his glory dwells when we are on earth? It is not a building. There are grand and glorious buildings, but his glory does not dwell there. It is where his true followers fellowship together. It is not a place of religion, but a place of excited spirits, hearts eager to tell of his wonderful deeds. There is a sweet communion of the faithful which is impossible to explain and even more impossible to experience without a changed heart. It can happen anywhere, but it happens so rarely. The wonder, the joy, the excitement, the rapture of the spirit of God moving among his children.
The opposite is the future of all those who never know true faith:
2 Thessalonians 1:8–9 (RSV) — 8 inflicting vengeance upon those who do not know God and upon those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They shall suffer the punishment of eternal destruction and exclusion from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
PONDER:
- Have you ever experienced it? Do you at least catch glimpses? You need a true relationship with God that only comes through the son.
PRAYER: Father, thank you for the other night. Thank you for the believers and their heart for you. Thank you for the glimpses of eternity that I get to experience. Thank you that I know you.
