Matthew 28:16–17 (ESV) — 16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the
mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when
they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.
|
I am assuming that
some of the disciples on the mountain were other than the eleven. In
Corinthians, Paul argues that there were almost 500 at the mountain. So, were
the ones who doubted, true believers? Isn't doubt against belief? But we all
doubt at various times, it is a weakness of human nature or more likely a
part of our sin nature. But I think this is a stronger doubt then just the
attacks our sinful nature. I think there were ones among them who didn't
believe.
|
Father, there are
those who don't believe the gospel in our midst. I pray that you would open
their eyes to their self-deception. I pray they might understand what true
eternal life is

These are just some random entries from my quiet times. Not all are included, as some are private or not very interesting.
Notice on a slight format change:
Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.
July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).
