Romans 1:21–22 (ESV) — 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him
as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and
their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be
wise, they became fools,
|
God says
"they became futile in their thinking" because they did not honor
God or give thanks to him. That is the problem with the world. As long as we
continue deny God, disobey God, flaunt our rebellion, and believe we are our
own gods, we will become more stupid. We will think we are becoming smarter
and more sophisticated, but the opposite will happen, and we won't even
recognize it.
|
Father, we need to
pursue your word above everything else. Only your word and your Holy Spirit
can prevent the decay that is destroying our culture, our world, and even our
own lives. Father, forgive us. Renew our love for the Word of God.

These are just some random entries from my quiet times. Not all are included, as some are private or not very interesting.
Notice on a slight format change:
Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.
July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).
