Psalm 10:14–18 (ESV) — 14 But you do see, for you note mischief and vexation, that you may take it into your hands; to you the helpless commits himself; you have been the helper of the fatherless. 15 Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer; call his wickedness to account till you find none. 16 The Lord is king forever and ever; the nations perish from his land. 17 O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear 18 to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth may strike terror no more.
NOTE: Recently the United States Supreme Court decided that the US constitution does not provide any person the right to end the life of the unborn. These are the most helpless of our society, the babies, aborted babies. They never get to see their fathers. They are by definition fatherless. They feel their mothers, but their mothers choose to end their lives. They have no voice. They have no opportunity to enjoy life. They define helplessness. Does anyone care for the sixty million unborn who have died? God does. They are not dead. They are not angels. They are human beings resting upon God's justice who will receive new bodies in the coming kingdom.
PONDER:
- What is my response to the injustice of abortion?
- Do I side with God and the babies right to live, or do I side with those who think the babies are disposable?
PRAYER: Father, Evil screams when its sins are discovered or taken away. I've seen it happen. There are demons living within people screaming at the top of their lungs because of their anger and hatred and their sin. They can't see straight. Father, open their eyes to themselves. Show them their sin. Bring them to Jesus.
