1 Corinthians 2:1 (ESV) — And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come
proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom.
|
Each of us has a
witness. It does not need to be awe-inspiring, heart-wrenching, or
gut-ripping. It is the simple message of the gospel. I realized I was a
sinner doomed to hell. I believed that Jesus took my place on the cross and
died for my sins. I put my faith in his finished work and his resurrected
life. And he changed my life from that moment. Any changed life is a picture
of the power of God to change people. It is the only message we need.
|
Father, help us
all to be more bold in our proclamation of truth. You have every true
born-again believer a message. There is nothing particularly lofty except
that God took interest in me, and upon my exercise of belief, changed me and
gave me eternal life. Thank you.

These are just some random entries from my quiet times. Not all are included, as some are private or not very interesting.
Notice on a slight format change:
Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.
July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).
