1 Timothy 2:2b–3 (ESV) —
… that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in
every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of
God our Savior,
|
Life can be very
good. And God's desire is for us to experience a full life and eternal life
(1 John 10:10). This is a good thing, and it pleases God. But sin has ruined
God's original desire for man. Life is not the way God intended.
Additionally, as a result of sin, we make poor choices on what is good for
our life. We choose materialism and Satan's lies over spiritual and God's
truth. And yet the real secret is found in choosing the latter over the
former.
|
Lord, open our
eyes to truth. Help us to see and choose righteousness. Forgive us for our
petty sinful ways. Forgive us for not pursuing you with all of our heart.
Renew our love and our relationship with you.

These are just some random entries from my quiet times. Not all are included, as some are private or not very interesting.
Notice on a slight format change:
Except for July 2012, these are mostly a collection of current devotional notes.
July 2012 is a re-write of old quiet times. My second child was born Nov 11, 1987 with multiple birth defects. I've been re-reading my QT notes from that time in my life, and have included them here. They cover the time before the birth and the few years immediately after the birth. They are tagged "historical." I added new insights and labeled them: ((TODAY, dd mmm yy)).
